We at Plantura show how you can use leftover egg shells as wonderful seed pots.
If you have leftover egg shells for Easter anyway or prepare a delicious omelette in the morning, you can ideally use the empty egg shells as small seed pots for various plants.
Step 1:
First, the inner skin of the half egg shells should be removed with a small knife. In the worst case, the skin can start to rot later in the earth. Then wash the bowl once.

Step 2:
Prick a small hole in the bottom of the bowl with a pin or something similar. This should be a little larger than would be the case when boiling eggs. This allows the water to drain away and prevents waterlogging.

Step 3:
Now the bowls are filled with soil and the plant seeds can be placed in the top layer of soil. For example, you can use our Plantura organic herb and seed soil to fill the eggshells. The remaining egg carton is ideal as a holder and still looks good.
Step 4:
Approximately every day or two, you should water your seeds with a tablespoon of water to keep the soil moist. Don't skimp on getting enough sunlight either.

Step 5:
After about three weeks you can admire the first results and the plants can be repotted with their eggshells. The calcium contained in the shell is still good for the soil. In contrast to conventional peat seed pots, egg shell seed pots are ecologically justifiable.
Et voila! We wish you a lot of joy and fun with your small sowings. Please let us share your experiences. We look forward to your pictures!
