- Medium-tall green Krauser: Medium-tall and extremely hardy; tried and tested variety with finely curled foliage.
- Lerchenzungen: Small-growing and extremely hardy variety with graceful and short leaves; particularly high-quality taste; traditional variety; is unfortunately hardly to be found on markets.
- Redbor F1: variety with high ornamental value; very finely curled leaves; half-height growing; the foliage shines subtly reddish and bluish with pink-reddish leaf veins; reasonably good yield; unique in optics; Recommended for growing on the balcony or terrace.

- Braunkohler Krauskohl: Modern variety with red-brownish foliage; is highly valued due to the numerous ingredients it contains (flavonoids).
- Vitessa: Extremely compact variety; higher sugar content, therefore often harvested earlier; tolerates frost very poorly.
- Winterbor: Grows to about medium height; heavily curled, green to bluish foliage; extremely frost resistant.
