The variety of different cucumber varieties is enormous. The oblong vegetables vary in colour, shape and size and weight. In terms of colour, there are not only green varieties, but also white, yellow and brown-skinned representatives. The shapes range from cylindrical and spherical to snake-like. The weight differences start with the small, crunchy mini cucumbers (less than 70 g), followed by the popular pickled and spiced cucumbers (80-150 g), the typical fresh salad cucumber (200-400 g), followed by the classic peeled cucumbers, which in turn can reach a weight of up to 4 kg.
