We show the best new & tried and tested Savoy cabbage varieties. The main distinguishing criteria are head weight, harvest time and storage life.
: Late savoy variety with finely curled and tightly packed cabbage heads; ideal for storage and wintering outdoors.</li>
<li>Goldvital: medium ripening variety; finely curled and fresh green leaves with a delicate consistency and intense flavor. Synonym: butter cabbage.</li>
<li>Langendijská: Very late variety with light green leaves and medium-sized heads; can be stored well.</li>
<li>Marner Grüfewi: Robust savoy variety with dark green leaves and finely curled cabbage heads; particularly easy to store; survives winter outdoors even in harsh regions.</li>
<li>Resulta: Medium-sized cultivar with pointed and fresh green heads; very closely related to old Bamberg varieties, but tastes better and stays nice and green even when cooked.</li>
<li>Samantha (F1): new breed of savoy cabbage and pointed cabbage; Savoy cabbage Samantha is particularly popular because of its fine and mild taste; the pointed heads can be harvested between the end of August and the end of November.</li>
<li>Smaragd: Vigorous and medium-short-stemmed variety with deep green and heavily curled leaves; stores well, but not suitable for overwintering outdoors in local latitudes.</li>
<li>Vertus 2: Mid-late variety with heavy heads and a high yield; Vertus 2 is particularly appreciated for its mild taste.</li>
<li>Vertus: Late variety with dark green, finely curled leaves and firm cabbage heads.</li>
<li>Herald 3: Very early variety with high cold tolerance; advanced plants can be planted out early. Despite the firm heads, this variety is not suitablefor storage.</li>
<li>Winterfürst 2: Late variety with medium-sized and finely curled cabbage heads; grows quite slowly, which is why it has to be sown early; Winterfürst stores well and is one of the few varieties that overwinters.</li>
<li>Wirosa (F1): Medium late variety with dark green and heavily curled leaves; good storage properties and therefore also popular in commercial cultivation.</li>
