Daffodils can shine in the garden in spring. But the key to success is planting at the right time and pruning after flowering.
Pruning daffodils correctly: when and how to do it
It is not necessary to cut back daffodils. The above-ground part of the plant dies after flowering and sprout again every year. The regression therefore leads neither to a second flowering nor to stronger budding in the following year. It can even weaken the plant. So that the plant does not lose energy unnecessarily for the winter, please note:
- Remove stem after flowering
- Do not remove leaves until they have yellowed
